What makes Dublin leather special?

Dublin is Horween's answer to the question: what happens when you take a clean vegetable-tanned leather and push it further? Starting from the same base as Essex, Dublin receives an additional infusion of natural waxes before being hot-plated — a process that creates its signature tonal depth and showcases the natural grain of the hide.

The result is a leather with strong, distinctive pull-up. Bend a Dublin strap and you'll see lighter streaks where the waxes migrate — that's the leather telling its story. Over weeks and months of wear, those waxes redistribute across the surface, burnishing into a patina that's entirely unique to how you wear it.

A note on color variation

Because Dublin relies on natural waxes and oils, expect variation from piece to piece. English Tan and Natural show the most range — the waxes absorb differently based on factors like heat and humidity during production. We consider this a feature, not a flaw. No two Dublin straps will look identical, and yours will only become more distinct over time.
